Just to brighten your day!

In math we have been focusing on teen numbers and place value.  Talk to your kids about how to represent a teen number using just your fingers!
Did you know that listening to your child read just 6 minutes a day helps them build fluency? Model  what fluent reading sounds like.  In reading groups, I read the page and ask the children to "echo" me.  This helps them understand that fluent reading should sound similar to their own speaking voice.

Brrrrrr!!!

What a Stretch!!!

It has been a wild couple of weeks in the weather department!  Although school has felt a bit disjointed recently, I felt like we were up to speed by the end of last week.  Two weeks ago, I administered the winter AIMSWEB and math assessments.  I am so very proud of the progress these hard working kids have made! I will be sending home the test scores as soon as I get the scores printed up.
Friday, February 13th will be a very exciting day in our class.  Not only will be be exchanging valentines but it is also (weather pending!!!) the 100th day of school!  You can send in the valentines and 100 items on Thursday or Friday.  I will make sure to take some pictures to share with you!
