We have successfully completed two full weeks of school! 😊 I am THRILLED to see the kids become more confident in the day to day routines. I cannot believe next week is the last week of September! Fall is definitely in the air!

Literacy is huge in kindergarten! We are practicing identifying letters and sounds daily as well as writing words with a focus on the initial and ending sounds. I have spent a lot of time modeling reading strategies during free reading. I want the kids to understand that although they may not be able to read some of the books they are looking at, searching for clues in pictures and familiar words can help make meaningful connections.

Hopefully you saw the butterfly life cycle that went home. All of the kids are officially experts at explaining the life cycle of a butterfly!

Recess buddies! ❤️

Time for Kindergarten!!

It may have one of the hottest starts to a school year but I could not be more proud of these kids! ❤️
Enjoy the pictures!

The kids were exploring the pattern blocks as we discussed their different attributes.

Hard working kids connecting unifix cubes from one end of the class to the other! I loved their teamwork!

We started writing this week!

The highlight of the day was releasing a beautiful monarch butterfly!
