Today we talked about how we can help friends. The kids brainstormed some sweet ideas then illustrated and wrote about it. My goal for writing at this point in the year is for the students’ picture to tell a story as well as trying to hear initial sounds in the words. I’m encouraging them not be afraid to “take a guess.”  Writing in kindergarten is all about taking risks!!

One more thing.....

You will notice these papers in your child's folder. Today we read The Little School Bus and discussed our favorite characters. The kids did a great job illustrating and labeling their characters. Ask them about it tonight!

Busy in Kindergarten!

I am SO excited to see such progress this early in the year. September is always overwhelming but your children are rising to the challenge! Thank you for being such wonderful parents. It is clear to see how each child is so loved and cared for!
Enjoy the pictures below!

Each morning we have a free choice. The children have several options to choose from including coloring, Legos, puzzles or games. Eventually, I will introduce the iPads and play dough! 😀

Have you heard about Baby? Ask you child about this mysterious caterpillar!

We have been taking advantage of this beautiful weather! ☀️

This week I have introduced penmanship to the class. We start by practicing on the chalkboards then transfer into the penmanship books.
