January Thaw!!

We took advantage of the warm(ish) temperature and had a little extra recess!

This week we talked about measuring weight. I had the kids hold two objects and determine which one felt heavier. We then used the scale to see if our weight predictions were correct.
Abby was not napping in this picture!  I encouraged them to close their eyes to help them concentrate!

Recently we have been talking about different reading strategies to use during independent reading. I have introduced two in the past week. They are:  Eagle Eye and Lips the Fish. There are also two more strategies to come!  Ask your kiddo about Eagle Eye and Lips the Fish!

Below you will see the kids trying out different reading strategies.

Happy New Year!!

It has been a busy two weeks getting back into the swing of kindergarten!  It sounds like everyone had a fun and busy holiday break.  The snow has added some extra excitement at school.  The kids are having a blast on the playground!  Just a reminder that the your child needs hat and mittens everyday as well as shoes to change into.  It can be pretty uncomfortable sitting on the rug in big winter boots! Thank you so much for labeling your child's name on their snow clothes.  I cannot tell you how many navy blue ski pants I have...they all look the same to me!  ;)
Please enjoy the pictures below.  PJ day was so cute in our room!

The kids loved buddy reading with their 2nd friends on Pajama Day!

We had a great time moving and grooving with GoNoodle!

Jenny was surprised to see her "twin" in Mrs. Topchik's class!
