Fire Station Field Trip! 🚒

It was a great trip to the fire station today! The kids were excellent and they just loved the adventure!

Firefighter Dale always does an amazing job teaching the students about fire safety.

Gunner’s grandfather is the Fire Chief in Gorham!

Last week we took advantage of the beautiful foliage and had some fun with leaves. 🍁
Mrs. Moon brought in different types of leaves for the kids to examine.

Last week we talk about "attributes" in math.  We discussed the term and what similar and different attributes look like.  I gave the kids a bowl of several different objects and asked them to sort them by similar attributes.  They all impressed me with their thinking and ability to work together in small groups.  **Bonus** They all looked extra sharp in these pictures because it was Picture Day!  ;)

It was a perfect day for......a little extra recess! I could not be more proud of my little workers! This class is proving to be a group of wonderfully motivated students!
In the past week we have started writing workshop, learned two new word wall words  (the and little), and studied the different features of shapes. We said “goodbye” to Baby (our beautiful monarch butterfly), read with our 2nd grade reading buddies and created growing and repeating patterns.
Phew!!! We are a busy bunch!

It’s hard to see our butterfly in this picture. She was read to go!

Here we are visiting our 2nd grade buddies in Ms. West’s room.

The kids are creating their growing and repeating patterns.
